Speech therapy that fits real life

Real progress doesn't just happen in sessions. It happens in moments at home, in routines, in play. Our model is built for parents who want to be part of that process.

Language

How we use words to talk.

Speech

How we make sounds to say words.

Literacy

How we read and write words and letters.

Our focus areas

Designed for children aged 0-6

We deliver 1:1 speech therapy sessions online across Australia, and offer in-person sessions every Tuesday at the Pitter Patter clinic in Sippy Downs.

We'll work with you to understand your goals for your child and tailor sessions to their interests to keep them engaged.

What's included:

  • Assessment and collaborative goal-setting

  • Weekly or fortnightly sessions (45-60mins)

  • Ongoing progress tracking

  • Practical home practice ideas

Our goal is simple: to help your child build strong communication skills and help you feel confident supporting that growth at home.

It's hard to know where to start

You want to make sure your child gets the right help, but you’re not sure when to reach out, how it works, or what progress looks like.

You ask friends and get ten different opinions.
You scroll online, and every source says something different.
Even once you find a speech pathologist, it’s hard to know what to expect.

Most families don’t need more effort. They need support, from the beginning.

That’s why we’ve built a two-layered model of care, starting with individualised therapy for your child, and extending to an optional membership for parents looking for extra guidance between sessions.

What really drives progress in speech therapy

Most parents think progress happens because of the therapist's expertise and techniques.

But the research tells a bigger story:

40% from the relationship we build

30% from what happens outside of therapy (daily moments at home)

15% from hope and belief in the process

15% from specific therapy strategies used in sessions

That means that over two-thirds of progress happens beyond the therapy room.

And that's exactly where we focus our energy: helping you feel empowered where it matters most.

The Parent Support Membership

We've seen how hard it is for families to keep therapy momentum going between sessions. Life is busy, and reaching out for help can be time consuming in itself.

That’s why we've designed our optional Parent Support Membership* to complement your child's therapy so you feel clear about what to do every day.

This isn’t therapy.

It's everything that surrounds it: the tools and guidance that make it easier to put what you're working on into practice. And because it's all online, you can access support wherever you are.

Inside, you’ll find coaching, check-ins, and resources that help you stay connected throughout the week. So therapy becomes part of everyday life, instead of another thing on the to-do list.

And this approach isn't just intuitive. It's evidence-based.

What changes when
parents feel supported

It’s not about adding more appointments.

It’s about removing the guesswork between them.

At Little Gumnut Speech, we use The FFPD Framework, a four-pillar structure that makes therapy easier for you to follow through on at home. You’ll access each part of this framework inside the Parent Support Membership*, through your dashboard, coaching calls, and guided check-ins.

Here's what that difference looks like:

No Support

Support

Unsure what to focus on between sessions

Always know your next small, clear step

Trying to remember what your therapist said last week

Everything saved in one easy-to-find spot

Waiting until next session to ask questions

Ask anytime and get clarity when you need it

Feeling pressure to “do it right

Feel confident knowing consistency is enough

Juggling updates between teachers, family, and therapists

Everyone stays aligned without you needing to coordinate it all

Feeling alone in the process

Feel guided every step of the way

Is this support right for your family?

This membership is designed for parents who want convenient support and accessible tools between sessions, all in one place.

✅ It's a great fit for parents who:

  • Want to reach out with questions as they come up, not just during sessions.

  • Appreciate having one secure home base to view goals, track progress, and find home practice ideas.

  • Value a structure that keeps them consistent throughout the week, with resources and tools that fit around daily life.

  • Are tired of feeling like the project manager between teachers, therapists, and family members.

❌ This may not be the right fit if you:

  • Prefer to attend therapy sessions only, without additional parent coaching.

  • Would rather manage home practice independently.

  • Don’t want to use online tools like a parent dashboard or resource library.

  • Are looking for short-term therapy input rather than ongoing support.

We believe parents make the biggest impact when they understand not just what to do, but why it matters. And we’re here to guide you through that process.

Want support that makes therapy feel simpler?

Spaces are limited to make sure every family receives genuine, individualised attention.

The Parent Support Membership* is available to families beginning therapy with us. If you’d like to explore how it could support your family, you can book a complimentary Intro Call to get started.

Have more questions? We've got you.

You want to feel confident before starting, and you should. These answers will help you understand how therapy and parent support work, and whether this approach feels right for your family.

  • Start by booking a complimentary Intro Call. We’ll talk about your child’s needs, answer your questions, and help you decide whether standard therapy or the additional Parent Support Membership is the best fit for your family.

    Book your call here.

  • It’s a relaxed 15-20 minute chat where we talk about your child, your goals, and what’s been feeling hardest so far. You’ll get a clear picture of how therapy works, what support options are available, and which approach feels best for your family. There’s no pressure to commit, it’s simply a space to explore what will best support your child's communication.

  • Our Standard Speech Therapy service is exactly what you’d expect from high-quality, play-based speech therapy: assessment, goal setting, and weekly sessions.

  • Speech therapy sessions are billed weekly, just like traditional therapy.

For a detailed breakdown of current rates and inclusions, visit our Pricing Page.

  • That’s totally okay. We know life changes, and your support should be flexible too. If you ever need to pause or adjust your plan, just let us know.

Therapy sessions can be rescheduled with notice.

  • That’s completely, every child engages differently. Sessions are play-based and flexible so we can follow your child's lead while still targeting their goals. Some weeks your child will join in directly; other weeks, you’ll take the lead as I guide you through strategies to try at home. Both are valuable parts of therapy.

  • No, support doesn't stop when the session ends. All families receive home practice ideas through follow-up notes or email.

  • That’s really common, and it doesn’t mean your child can’t make progress.

The difference here isn’t in “new” strategies, but in the level of access and support you get. If something feels unclear, you don’t have to wait until the next session. You can reach out straight away, or even book a short call to talk it through (included in the Parent Support Membership). That way, you get clarity quickly and can keep weaving the strategies into everyday life with confidence.

  • Your involvement is essential, but that doesn’t mean adding extra work to your week. The biggest progress often comes from doing less: less second-guessing, less over-explaining, and less pressure to “teach.” It’s about small, natural shifts in how you already connect with your child, not extra homework.

And if you’re part of the Parent Support Membership, you’ll also have extra tools and reminders to make those shifts feel even easier to build into everyday life.

  • Every child’s timeline looks a little different, and progress can show up in small, often subtle ways at first. It might be more attempts to communicate, longer attention during play, more willingness to try a new sound or word, or growing interest in books. Our focus is on building strong communication foundations and helping you recognise the smaller steps that lead to bigger change.

The Parent Support Membership is designed to help you feel confident and consistent while that progress unfolds.

  • No, speech and language development takes time, consistency, and teamwork. Therapy isn’t about quick fixes; it’s about building lasting communication skills through small, steady steps.

  • Because relationships are everything. Kids learn best when they feel safe and understood, and parents thrive when they know they’re fully supported. By keeping my caseload small, I can give your family the time, attention, and care you truly deserve.

  • The dashboard is set up for your household with one secure family login. You can share it with a partner or ask us to include other carers in updates. We’ll announce multi-user access if/when it becomes available.

  • That’s completely okay, you don’t need to be tech-savvy to get started. All sessions and resources are set up with simple, step-by-step links, and I’ll make sure you feel comfortable joining Zoom or using the dashboard before we begin.

And if you ever get stuck, I can walk you through it or set up a quick test call to make sure everything runs smoothly.

  • When therapy wraps up, you won’t be left wondering what comes next. You’ll receive a summary that outlines what your child has achieved, what to keep focusing on, and how to maintain progress at home.

All families are offered a re-screen check-in down the track to review skills and goals.

  • Yes, we work with children across a wide range of communication needs. If your child has a more complex developmental profile, we’ll talk about this in your Intro Call to make sure therapy is tailored to their goals and that the support model is the right fit for your family.

*Disclaimer:

The Parent Support Membership is an educational and coaching-based service designed to help parents feel supported between speech therapy sessions. It does not replace or modify clinical therapy, nor does it guarantee changes in clinical outcomes. All therapeutic goals, assessments, and progress tracking are conducted separately within speech therapy sessions in accordance with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) guidelines. Should additional clinical services be requested, these will be invoiced at the therapy service rate. Participation in the Parent Support Membership is optional, subject to availability, and requires an introductory call to confirm suitability for your family.

Note: Some Parent Dashboard features are currently in development and will be released soon. Families who join will receive updates as new tools are added.
