We comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), including the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs 1–11), and where relevant, state-based health records legislation.

  • Child’s name, date of birth, and relevant developmental or medical history

  • Referral information (e.g. GP, paediatrician, or educator)

  • NDIS information (participant number, plan details if applicable)

  • Website or online enquiry information submitted via forms

  • Audio, video, or image files provided as part of therapy, telehealth, or promotional activities (e.g. giveaway application videos – only with explicit consent)

We collect personal information:

  • Directly from you through intake forms, emails, phone calls, and therapy sessions

  • Via our website forms or social media platforms

  • From third parties with your consent (e.g. GPs, educators, allied health professionals)

  • Through promotions or giveaways, where you voluntarily provide additional information (e.g. eligibility questions, video submissions)

  • Provide and tailor speech pathology services

  • Communicate with you about appointments, goals, and progress

  • Coordinate care with other professionals (with consent)

  • Manage bookings, billing, and administration

  • Conduct service feedback and quality improvement

  • Assess eligibility and clinical suitability for participation in the First Words Academy Giveaway or other programs, in accordance with the Speech Pathology Australia Code of Ethics (2020)

  • Run promotions or giveaways that you voluntarily enter, in line with their respective Terms & Conditions

  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations (e.g. child safety reporting, NDIS compliance)

 

We will not use your information for direct marketing without your consent.

 

Where consent is provided (for example, by ticking an optional consent box on a form), we may contact you with information or offers about our programs.

We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.

  • Request corrections if that information is inaccurate or outdated
